This is when CEO is absent and CEO nominates CFO to act on his behalf.

No I don't think so. Being CEO means having more responsibilities along with CFO role. But the management style will be different from the the original CEO just because different people have different ideas, experience & beliefs. Technically any CEO's objective should be to maximize shareholders' wealth.
