I was in a company where a senior staff complained that because accounts preparation and audit is handled by third parties, he did not see why he had to undergo IFRS training for non accountants. He further commented that it was their external auditors who should be trained if they had not done the training themselves. He saw little value from the company's expenditure on the training since they will never use it anyway. Dike

External auditors are not responsible for preparation of accounts; it is a management responsibility. Non-accounting staff may be providing inputs for accounting staff and therefore they may need some sort of IFRS training. Therefore IFRS training should be given only to the selected staff as I feel.
